How does this year stack up versus the previous year in lake home sales in Alexandria? Pretty nicely. In 2015, 101 lake homes were sold from January 1st thru August 26th versus 117 in 2016. By ‘sold’ I am referring to the date a Purchase Agreement (PA) was agree upon. A PA accepted on 12/31/2015 would be included in the 2015 numbers even though it closed in 2016 or if it hasn’t closed yet. The numbers are also only for properties with an Alexandria mailing address. Last year the high sales were higher and more plentiful. There were 4 sales higher than 1 million dollars and 11 higher than $600,000. This year there have been no million plus sales and 8 higher than $600,000.
