2013 vs 2012 Lake Home Sales

Real estate sales statistics in 2013 for homes with frontage on Lake Carlos, Lake Darling, Lake Le Homme Dieu, Lake Geneva, Lake Victoria, Lake Latoka, Maple Lake, Lake Ida and Lake Miltona were better than 2012 by any statistical measure. In 2013 the days on the market decreased by 21%, the number of homes sold increased by 10%, the sales volume increased by 25%, the average sales price increased by 14% and the time on the market decreased by 5% ...

Alexandria Area Lake Lot Sales in 2013

After being quiet for too many years, sales of lake lots in the Alexandria Area perked up in the second half of 2013. The sales were fairly evenly distributed between twenty lakes in Douglas County. With 2013 being a strong year for lake homes sales in Alexandria's market and with positive activity starting out 2014 (a home listed for sale on Lake Ida in the low $500,000 price range went under contract this month), I think lake lot sales in ...

Helpful Lake Home Sale Stats

Lakefront market statistics can be misleading since there are so many variables that affect price. So on a rainy Friday afternoon, I am taking a closer look at 2013 lake sales with the intent of giving a better feel for prices. First, I limited the 2013 sales to the five lakes that I get the most inquiries about homes for sale with lakefrontage on them; Darling, Carlos, Le Homme Dieu, Ida, Latoka and Miltona. Then, I took out any sales ...

Lake Le Homme Dieu For Under $200,000

If association living at a lake appeals to you and your budget is under $200,000, I have a new listing to tell you about. Tomorrow, one of my partners at Counselor Realty, Linda Akenson, will add a new listing to the Alexandria Multiple Listing Service. It is at Interlachen Shores (County Road 120 and close to Eddy's Interlachen) and in this aerial photo, it is the home at the back left. Yes, your lake view is impeded by another home ...

It is also one of two townhome association in the Alexandria Area that along with having frontage on a lake also has a swimming pool (the other is Chippewa Trails Townhomes at Lake Ida). From the swimming pool residents and ...

“LITTLE” LE HOMME DIEU

The Douglas County Historical Society in Alexandria is full of memories. I found this remembrance of summer life in Alexandria in an old publication titled 'How the Lakes Were Named'. With only narrow bars of land separating Lake L'homme Dieu from Lake Carlos and Lake Carlos from Lake Darling (Big and Little), this area between these lakes has always been known as Three Havens. It was first platted by L.T. Brown, and probably named by him. His name appears on ...
