A .72 acre lot with 102 feet of level frontage at Maple Lake went on the market yesterday. There isn’t an abundance of level, sandy lakeshore and unfortunately it can’t be made. That, the .72 acre size and this location make this an attractive lot. It is a short drive to the bustling south end of Alexandria where there is shopping, groceries, banking, restaurants and medical facilities. And ofcourse that means quick access to Interstate 94 too. A key feature though is that it is within School District 206. This means that any students that live at this property will be able to attend Alexandria Area High School and the younger students will be able to attend Woodland Elementary School.
Glancing outside it is hard to fathom that it is December in Alexandria, Minnesota. Even in the video below, it would be a challenge to guess the time of year. It was recorded the weekend prior to Thanksgiving this year at Maple Lake. In it, an unedited video as you will notice when I redirect my drone, you will get a good view of the homes along one of the most desirable locations at Maple Lake, Forada Beach Road. Around the 25 second mark of the video, and in the photo above, there is a view of a new lake home being built. Forada Beach Road lakeshore is in demand because it is level and sandy. Some of the properties have some emergent vegetation in front of them but even that isn’t a negative. It is far enough out from the shoreline that it doesn’t affect swimming or boating and it provides a buffer between young swimmers and watercrafts.
There are a number of Maple Lakes in Minnesota but this one is a standout. It is 830 acres and is usually one of the cleanest lakes in Douglas County and Pope County. I mentioned the two counties as Maple Lake is unique in that some of the addresses are part of Douglas County and others Pope. Some have Alexandria in their mailing address and others Glenwood.
Two Maple Lake lots are now for sale at the end of Maple Springs Drive. Some of the highest valued real estate at 830 acre Maple Lake in Alexandria have a Maple Springs address. Recently platted, the two lots are on a point and have high quality shoreline for swimming. Lot 1 is .56 acre with 100 feet of frontage and it will be possible from a home to have lake views in all four directions. The same views are possible at Lot 2 as well. Its size is 1.12 acres and has 351 feet of lakeshore. Both have city sewer available. Both are going to wonderful settings for a new home and there are many attractive homes in the neighborhood. What I like about the location is Maple Springs Drive that it is a short drive to I-94 and the shopping area and medical facilities at the south end of Alexandria.

A week ago I was on the Central Lakes Trail for a 10 mile bike ride and it was beautiful. In anticipation of more nice weather I decided to order new inline skates.
