Most everyone that visits Alexandria knows about Carlos Creek Winery but are you aware that the 10,800 acre area south of Lake Miltona and in between Lake Ida and Lake Carlos is designated as an American Viticultural Area? The soil type is Nebish-Beltrami and grapes produced are Brianna, Frontenac, Frontenac Gris, King of the North, Marquette, Petit Pearl, Prairie Star, Sabrevois and Valiant.
