On a recent weekend afternoon I spent an hour getting to know Alexandria’s Lake Andrew (most likely named in honor of the first physician in Alexandria) a little better via my Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP). Besides being a good sized lake at 918 acres and over 8 feet of water clarity, a very nice feature of Andrew is that it is only about four miles from the center of downtown Alexandria.
Embedded is a 360 degree view I recorded while at the northeast part of Andrew. If you zoom in a bit you will notice that it is the eastern shoreline and southern shoreline that is the most developed part of the lake. Use your mouse to move the view.
Craig,
Great photo and that looks like a wonderful place to visit. I was just looking at real estate blogs in other areas and came across yours. I am in the Houston Real Estate area and I am not sure if we have a lake as clear up to 8 feet like Lake Andrew. Keep up the good writing.
Nice to hear from you Byron. 8 feet is good clarity but we are lucky enough to have plenty of lakes with water clarity in the double digits. You should visit the area if you get the chance. It is beautiful.
