A favorite activity of mine during the spring, summer and fall in Alexandria is to strap on my Rollerblades for a skate on the Central Lakes Trail. I prefer heading west from Big Ole for a round-trip skate to Garfield as fewer busy intersections are encountered compared to the route east to Nelson. Another reason is that I get to pass by more of Alexandria’s lakes. Heading east, I get a nice view of Geneva and Victoria when I cross the bridge over the channel but that is it (other than Agnes and Henry at the starting point of course). The western route gives me a view of five (Cowdry, Stony, Taylor, North Union and Brophy) of the eleven lakes in Alexandria’s Chain. Recently I made use of my iPhone and captured some video of all but Taylor as I made my way along the trail.
