Located at the northeast corner of Lake Le Homme Dieu in Alexandria, Minnesota is an association named Frenchman Cove Townhomes. This waterfront community was created in the early 1990’s and the association has a positive reputation of being well run. It is also one of two townhome association in the Alexandria Area that along with having frontage on a lake also has a swimming pool (the other is Chippewa Trails Townhomes at Lake Ida). From the swimming pool residents and their guests have a view west across the lake and can see one of the other main lakes of Alexandria’s Chain of Lakes, Lake Carlos. Another nice feature of this townhome community is that it has a paved walking path along the 1,000 plus feet of lake frontage. Exercise and a view.
There are 23 homes at Frenchman Cove and they were smartly positioned so all would have a lake view. Each home has one boat slip in the community marina for a boat lift and not having to worry about yard work gives the owners more time to spend more time boating, fishing or cruising to Zorbaz, Bugaboo Bay or Arrowwood for lunch or dinner. As you will see in the video I recently shot in front of Frenchman Cove, you need to take some steps down to the marina but there is also a motorized lift as well. A benefit of being up a little higher is a tremendous view.
