This is a question I and other REALTORS hear every year many times. The answer is “you don’t know until you try”.
People that have listed real estate for sale shouldn’t be underestimated, they are savvy than often is perceived. It is uncommon that a seller or their representation will be imprudent enough to answer the question. Most often, the best case is they will give a response that they aren’t going to hold out for full price.
The majority of people aren’t going to give a verbal response regarding price and/or terms on real estate being offered for sale. There a number of reasons this is true but a big reason is that a buyer that won’t take the time to put together an enforceable Purchase Agreement isn’t serious.
