Anyone that has spent time on Alexandria’s Chain of Lakes knows that a favorite spot for people to congregate is the southeast corner of Lake Carlos. It’s sandy and the water isn’t very deep. On a hot day, there are trees that provide welcome shade. Often, it will look like a party has broken out.
Earlier this week, I went out for a paddle on my SUP on Little Darling and along the south shoreline of Lake Carlos. I stopped at the southeast corner for a break and to reply to some emails. A friend of mine has been battling health issues this year and last week had to travel 3 1/2 hours to Mayo via ambulance. He and his wife have a home at the west side of Lake Carlos and setting aside everything else he is dealing with, being away from the lake during the summer has to be really hard. Anyway, this has been a long way to describe what the embedded video is below. I recorded a minute at Lake Carlos to send to my friend.
