20 mile per hour winds coming out of the southwest hit me this morning as I traveled via Stand Up Paddleboard from the Public Access at Smith Lake towards Dyrud Court on the lake’s west side. The thought of the fun I’d have when I turned to head north kept me paddling steadily. It also crossed my mind that the wind might shift direction but fortunately it didn’t and the trip north was indeed a blast.
Smith Lake is located between the cities of Alexandria and Osakis and is 666.32 acres. Dyrud Court is part of Dyrud Westwood Estates and was developed between 2000 and 2007. There still are some bare lots available but most of Dyrud Court has homes. Below is short video looking north and east from outside Dyrud Court as well as photos of the homes, and a bare lot, of Dyrud Court beginning on the north end.
