ABOUT LAKE COWDRY
Lake Cowdry is part of Alexandria’s Chain of Lakes and has channels to Lake Taylor and Lake Darling. It’s 242 acres, has a maximum depth of 52 and a 2013 MN DNR Fisheries Lake Survey reports water clarity of 14 feet. Like Lake Brophy, downtown Alexandria is a short drive or bike ride. The Central Lakes Trail passes by the northeast side of the lake and over the channel to Lake Darling. It should be noted that there are limitations on what can pass through the channel. If you are on a Stand Up Paddleboard or canoe, no problem. In short, navigation of it is confined to small watercrafts. A nice public access is at the northeast corner of the lake.
Lake Cowdry is located in Douglas County and its lake classification is General Development.
