SOME HISTORY
The original name of the lake was “Rowley”. Later it was renamed to Geneva in honor of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. In 1884, J.H. Letson built a hotel for summer guests and named it “The Alexandria”. Running past it was the Great Northern Railway and a station was built on the southern shore of the lake. The station was named Geneva Beach. Today, the train tracks are now The Central Lakes Bike Trail and the station is a resort that retained the Geneva Beach name.
