About Lake Ida
Lake Ida is the second largest lake in Douglas County with 4,426 acres to boat, paddle, swim, sail, fish or to just enjoy the view. It is a very clean lake (an average of 10.2 feet of clarity in a 2011 MN DNR Fisheries Lake Survey) and is one of the most desired lakes in the Alexandria Area.
Some of the most in demand real estate of Lake Ida is located on Sahara Lane, Burkeys Lane, Sunset Strip, Little Ida Beach Road, Pilgrim Point Road, Sugar Sand Lane and Gehrkes Point. Ida has much to offer and I could’ve continued with street names as there really isn’t an undesirable part of it. I have never lived at Lake Ida but have spent quite a bit of time on it paddling around on my Stand Up Paddleboard. I really enjoy Ida as it is very scenic, the water is clean and it just has a great feel about it. The Chain of Lakes is where I grew up and when I bought my first lake home, it was at Lake Carlos so it has always felt like home to me but I completely understand why people prefer Lake Ida.
Lake Ida is in Douglas County and its lake classification is General Development.
