ABOUT LAKE MILTONA
Lake Miltona is the largest lake in Douglas County and is a favorite of many people. Being 5,724 acres in size with 17.31 miles of shoreline, boaters should never get bored at Lake Miltona. A great lake for fishing, it is one of two lakes in Minnesota’s Douglas County that anglers can catch muskies, the other being Lobster Lake. Located north of Lake Carlos and Alexandria, it is close enough to enjoy everything Alexandria has to offer but just far enough away that it seems a little more “up north”. A 2019 lake survey by the DNR reports average water clarity of 10.6 feet and a maximum depth of 105 feet.
Some of the most popular addresses for homes, cottages, and cabin at the lake are at South Lake Miltona Drive, East Lake Miltona Drive, Minnesouri Club Road, Chicago Club Lane, Spring Lake Road, Riedel Beach Road, Riedel Beach Lane, Hidden Valley Road, Hidden Valley Lane, Sandy Beach Drive, and North Lake Miltona Road.
Lake Miltona’s classification is General Development.

SOME HISTORY
Some of the first settlers at this lake were the Roadruck family so the lake could have been easily been Lake Roadruck. Fortunately marketing savvy has existed a long time so instead the lake was named after Florence Miltona Roadruck, wife of Benjamin Franklin Roadruck. They had a daughter named Irene and that name was used for the 630 acre lake that is a short distance to the northeast of Lake Miltona.
