ABOUT LAKE HENRY AND LAKE AGNES
Lake Henry and Lake Agnes have been put together by me because they basically comprise one lake, Lake Henry (a north bay) and Lake Agnes (a south bay). There has been ongoing work to improve the water quality of these lakes and it is paying dividends. A 2017 MN DNR survey of 152 acre Lake Henry reports average water clarity of 13.2 feet and a survey during the same year of 137 acres Lake Agnes reported water clarity of 11.4 feet. Both lakes are similar in depths with Henry having a max depth of 32 feet and Agnes, 31 feet. The mean depth for Henry is 13 feet and Agnes, 12 feet. Where the lakes meet on the east side is City Park which has a softball field, pickelball courts, a bandstand, playground, fishing pier, picnic shelter and public beach. There is also a trail that will bring you to the Central Lakes Trail.
Both lakes are in Douglas County and are classified as General Development lakes. Watercrafts speeds have to be kept to 5 mph or less while on Agnes.
