About Maple Lake
Maple Lake is about a 5-10 minute drive south of Alexandria, Minnesota and it has homes, cabins and cottages that are part of Douglas County and others that are in Pope County. Some have Alexandria in their address, others Glenwood even though they are part of Douglas County. The location is a nice feature of the lake as along with the proximity to Alexandria, residents also are closer to the city of Glenwood and all that it has to offer. The size of the lake is 830 acres with a maximum depth of 78 feet. It has very good water clarity, a maximum depth of 78 feet and is one of my favorite lakes to visit for a paddle around on my Stand Up Paddle Board. I like it because of the water clarity (20.6 feet per the MN DNR), its scenic and because of the nice public access with a pier located at the north end of the lake. Some of the homes with the highest values at the lake are located on Maple Springs Drive. Forada Beach Road and South Maple Lake Road real estate is also in high demand.
Part of Maple Lake is in Douglas County, part of it is in Pope County. Its lake classification is General Development.
