Last night, I arrived at MSP on a Delta flight from JFK. I had been Manhattan last week to enjoy my favorite of the five New York City boroughs and one of my favorite cities in the world, and also to attend the women’s semifinals at The US Open. Just being on the grounds is a blast and this time it was particularly fun to watch Coco in a fantastic match between she and her tough opponent, Karolina Muchová.
My plan was to arrive early on the 7 train so I could walk over to Flushing Meadows Corona Park to visit the grounds and visit the Queens Museum. It is interesting to do both because of the history of the 1964-65 World’s Fair (The Panorama of the City of New York alone is a reason to stop into the free Queens Museum). This visit, I arrived armed with info about where Big Ole stood during the World’s Fair. There isn’t any indication of his presence and I am pretty certain the guys doing rail flips at Flushing Meadows Maloof Corona Skate Park would be interested. That is right. Where he stood is now a skate park.
